Presentation by Charlotte Schofield - Project Officer Deal for Communities Team
Charlotte outlined the present situation regarding the Deal of Communities and the various funding levels available via the Community investment fund. She gave out printed information and then engaged in a long and detailed discussion with the Network members about various topics and issues raised.She invited members to get in touch with her directly via email (C.Schofield@wigan.gov.uuk) on matters relating to them personally, or regarding their area.

The Bridgers Community Group is arranging a poppy display in the village to commemorate the First World War.
Approval has now been given to build a further 830 houses in the village with the main access being at the side of St. Michaels Church. These will have significant impact on the village and the environment.
The Library will move to its new location in the old town hall in November and the present building along with the technical college will be sold by the Council, the asking price will be £50,000.
Plans for the development of Atherton Town Centre are to be deferred due to the lack of funding
