Martin Purcell, Greenheart Officer for the Corporate Land Management Team, explained the framework and responsibilities of the CLMT and his role within it, then answered questions and responded to comments. His written notes concerning matters of environment and heritage interest will be attached to the minutes, when circulated.
Martin recommend we invite Anna Hetterley, Carbon Landscape Programme Manager for the Wildlife Trust, to our meeting 25 September. Anna has been in touch and agreed.
Joe Taylor: A bore hole sank at Greenslate Farm means there will be water for all requirements into the foreseeable future. Farmers Markets are held 10.00 onwards third Sunday of the month.
John ONeil: The Waterloo Memorial will be unveiled 25th August. The plans
for refurbishment of Market Square have been dropped.
Mary Pennington: Handed out latest newsletter. The GM Federation Festival of Archaeology to be held 22-25 June,
Glenys McClellan: All going well.
Tom Price: The Civic Trust meetings continuing as scheduled
Ken Barston: The lack of young recruits to the group is becoming a problem as existing member are and are unable to perform strenuous work,
Neil Forshaw: Georges grave is undergowing refurbished at Warrington cemetery. The GF memorial race at Haydock Park is the 4.05 on the 26th of May.
Richard Sivill: There have been so many housing developments approved that there will soon be no green space left in Atherton.
Peter Goodwin: Engaged in finishing the John Lennon film.
Bob Bruce: Going through a re-branding process - will be know as Lancashire Mining Museum.
Avis Freeman: Busy as usual.
